Excellent Choice

Blown-in insulation consists of loose-fill fiberglass, rock wool or cellulose that’s blown into building cavities and attic using special equipment. When properly installed by a licensed and trained professional, a blown-in blanket system provides admirable R-value (insulation quality) by filling gaps and voids better than pre-cut panels of batt insulation. Blown-in insulation also provides impressive acoustical benefits.

Blown-in cellulose insulation is a non-toxic natural product made from at least 80% recovered, post-consumer paper fiber – recycled newsprint – that is treated with a nontoxic fire retardant. Because cellulose is two to three times denser than conventional fiberglass it is an excellent insulator. It’s so effective at limiting noise pollution the Federal Aviation Administration have approved it as an enhanced sound control material for homes located in the flight paths of our nation’s airports! It is an excellent choice for insulating attics and interior sidewalls.”

Smart Sealed installs Energy Star rated cellulose manufactured by Champion. Energy Star products help you save money and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by meeting strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy. In addition, Champion’s Cellulose has been tested and passed by Underwriters Laboratories®.

Dense packing cellulose is a process which involves compressing the material into a confined space, typically a wall stud bay or roof rafter, more densely than could have occurred through settling. This is a beneficial process for retrofitting an
older home with existing finished walls.”
